Another half term has drawn to a close and what fun we have had! Our theme has been stories and we have had such a lovely time looking at various books.
The children have all had the opportunity to engage in many different 1:1 activities. These have included making stick puppets of their favourite book characters, making cards for people that they wished to say Thank you to (this was related to looking at books with ‘people who help us’) see picture below
One week, we discussed the structure of stories with the children i.e. Beginning, middle and end. Each child had the chance to stick down pictures from a story in order. It was lovely to hear what the children had to say and their thought process. We read them two stories ; Little Red Riding Hood and The Ginger Bread Man. The children could then choose which story to sequence together. Finally, in the last week the children had the opportunity to make a little Valentines gift. They were all beautiful ❤️
Thank you for all of the lovely photos you sent in to go on our display board. They all looked lovely in their pictures and it was great hearing what they had to say about their books!
Above is our beautiful display board.
Many of you have been attending our Stay and Play sessions this half term and it has been lovely welcoming you all to our sessions to give the opportunity for you to see what your children get up to.
Hoping you are all enjoying your half term break and we look forward to seeing you all and your children after the break.
