And so ends another fabulous year at Seer Green Pre-School.

This last half term, we have been learning all about the children in our theme ‘All about Me’.

We have been discussing their favourite things, what makes them unique, road safety and keeping themselves safe, their future and what they would like to do.

During this time, the children have been engaging in a variety of 1:1 activities. To begin the half term, we discussed our families. Each child has the chance to make something for a special person. The children each had the opportunity to make a self portrait of themselves. We looked at their hair colour, eye and skin colour and what features we have. Our display board was filled with the lovely pictures the children drew of themselves in the future. We had some budding young astronauts, some nurses and a lovely one of a child donating all the money they earn to charity. “When I’m older, I want to leave a pot of money outside my house for people to take if they need it” they said. We discussed the children’s favourite things, and during this time, they were able to do printings of their favourite foods.

The favourite week appeared to be ‘Road safety’ week. This was a great opportunity for the children to be engaging in role play and imaginary based games.

This week, the children took it in turns in small groups to go outside and practise walking across a real zebra crossing in the car park.

In our final week, the children made sandwiches to take home for lunch, or to eat at the end of year picnic. We had some lovely combinations, ranging from Jam with Nutella and Cucumber to cheese with crisps and cucumber!

We were incredibly proud of all of the children during Sports day. Didn’t they do well?! And the older children did a beautiful performance of a song they learnt about the creatures in the Forest.

We would like to thank you all for your continued support this year and a huge thank you to everyone who donated their time to help in any way.

wishing you all a very happy summer break  and a fond farewell to all of our lovely children who are leaving us. For those of you who are returning we look forward to welcoming you back in September.
